Android: Set alarm tone

Use the default alert tone

To change the alert tone, go to the "Settings" section. Under "Notifications" > "Alerting tone" you can choose from 31 predefined tones or your own tone.

Use your own tone

To select your own tone, first download it to your smartphone and make sure that it is in the download directory, for example.
Now open the tone selection in the GroupAlarm App and tap on the item "Add" in the area "My tones". You may first have to allow access to media and files before the file selection opens.

On smartphones up to Android 10, you will now receive a list of all sound files found on your device, which you can select by tapping and import into the GroupAlarm App.
On smartphones from Android 11 onwards, the file manager will now open, allowing you to select the desired sound file on your smartphone and import it into the GroupAlarm App.

##Silencing the notification tone

The notification sound can be permanently muted in a few steps.
First open the GroupAlarm app and switch to the "Settings" section. There, tap on "SELECT" in the "Notifications" section to open the sound selection.

In this list, simply select "Silent" as the first entry in the "Device Sounds" section.

To test whether the notification settings are now set as desired, please follow this article.
