Monitors: Overview

Monitors: Overview

This module is an optional extension and must first be activated.

In the "Monitors" menu, you can create individual feedback monitors and display them on various devices. A monitor is made up of various tiles, here called panels. Their functions and configurations are discussed in the "Panels" section. You can choose from various panels and arrange them as you wish.

Create a new monitor

To create a new monitor, click on the "NEW" button. Enter a name for the monitor in the following window. An empty monitor is created, and a token is automatically created.

To edit the monitor, click on the "EDIT" button.

Edit Monitor

To add a new panel, click on the button "NEW PANEL". In the following window you will see all panels, these can be filtered by category or using the search bar.

Click on a panel and configure it according to the specifications, then confirm with "Save". The panel now appears on the monitor.

To move a panel, click in the upper-left corner of a panel and keep the mouse button pressed. Drag the panel to the desired position. Panels that have already been placed adjust their position dynamically, if possible.

To change the size of a panel, move the mouse pointer over the edge of the panel until an arrow symbol appears. Hold down the left mouse button to drag the panel to the desired size. Panels that have already been placed will dynamically adjust their position if possible.

To remove a panel or edit the content, click on the three dots in the upper-right corner and select "Delete" or "Configure".

Split screen

Each monitor can be used in an optional split screen view, where the four most recent alarms are displayed together in a 2×2 grid.
To configure this view, simply select the second "EDIT" button in the monitor settings and specify the layout of the four views. Only the top left view can be edited, and your changes will automatically affect all other views.
Then, in the "Tokens" area, call up the link to the split-screen display for your monitor with the desired access token.

Sleep mode

When idle mode is activated, the monitor automatically switches to a freely configurable view after the last open event has been closed and the set time period has expired.

Token

To open the monitor on an external device, e.g. a television, a so-called token is required. You use this to authenticate yourself to the monitor so that no one else can see your data. A separate token should be used for each display device of a monitor.

You can find instructions on how to display the monitor in our Blog.

Preview

While editing a monitor, you can preview the current view in a separate tab or window at any time. To achieve this, simply click on the corresponding button above the monitor.
This is similar to the live version, but is updated more frequently with your changes and does not switch between the current view and the idle mode.

Panels

The functions of the various panels (sorted by category) and their configuration are explained below. Click on a heading to expand the explanation.

Text filter

Some panels support filtering of the displayed text by regular expressions / RegEx.
This includes, for example, the alarm message, the event, and the address.

If such a filter is set up with a correct regular expression, the Result of the first Capturing Group is displayed in the panel. If the regular expression is invalid, the corresponding error message is displayed. If the regular expression does not find a result or there is no capturing group in the expression, only a - is displayed in the panel.

In addition to the regular expression, one of three flags can also be used to affect the result. These are:
- m, multi line: ^ and $ correspond to start and end of a line, respectively.
- i, case-insensitive: upper and lower case are ignored
- s, single line: Dot additionally corresponds to a new line

Example

In this example, the alarm message looks like this:
Alarm!

Keyword: Tanker fire
Address: Aachener Land Süd, BAB4 20, A4, 52249 Eschweiler

If you would like to filter out the keyword here, you can form the regular expression as follows:
Keyword: (.*)

Make sure that you do not use the single line flag.
Activate the case-insensitive flag if the preceding keyword text is not always case-sensitive.

General

Date

Display for date and time.

Configuration: Enter the desired heading in the 'Title' field and select a background colour. Certain formatting symbols are reserved for the time information, which are automatically converted to the desired output. Refer to the User's Guide for date formats.

iFrame

Use the iFrame panel to display external contents of a URL on your monitor. For configuration, an optional "title" and "scaling" of the external content are also available. To display a specific section of the external content, you can configure the optional parameters "Move X and Y position" as well as the height and width of the frame.

Please note that when moving the positions with "Move X and Y position", the external content of the iFrame only has the size of your browser window. To change the size of the external content, e.g. to load more content, please use the fields "Height" and "Width".

Map

Map showing the location of the current alarm.

With the "Zoom Level" you can change the displayed section. Optionally, you can select a DWD layer such as weather warnings or satellite images.

GeoJSON

In addition to DWD layers, you can also integrate your own GeoJSON data within the map and static map. This requires an active URL to a valid GeoJSON file. To include possible authentications in the HTTP header, use the header field and value fields and click on the plus symbol.

If your GeoJSON file contains its own icons for markers within the 'properties' field, you can include this icon using the Marker-Icon selection field. If you get the GeoJSON from the interface of RescueTablet, you can select RescueTablet directly there. If you want to select your own JSON field that contains a URL to an icon, select Own path. In the field below, you can now enter the JSON path within the properties.

For example, use marker.iconURL to access the icon URL within the properties field in the example below.

`json
{
"type": {"feature",
"geometry": {
"``type``:
point
,
"coordinates": [
9.101485,
50.21362
]
},
"properties": {
"marker": {
}, "iconURL": { "https://example.com/icon.png",
}
}
}
```
In addition to your own path, you can also specify your own URL. This way, you use the icon behind the URL as the marker icon.
Static map
Configuration: Enter latitude and longitude in the format ±ddd.ddddd. With the "zoom level" you can change the displayed section. Optionally, you can select a DWD layer such as weather warnings or satellite images.
You can also select whether only those participants are to be displayed who have been assigned at least one of the selected labels. Furthermore, the participants can also be filtered according to their availability.
For example, if you only want to see a list of all available participants without labels, enter an unassigned name as the label and only select the box "Show available participants".
If the list of your participants is very long, you can divide the overview into several panels next to each other. To achieve this, use the settings for the max. number of participants to display and the number of participants to skip.
In the first panel, you limit the participants to 20, for example, and skip exactly this number of participants in the second panel.
