Connections - IMAP
Under Connections, you can add and manage connections to external interfaces. For example, you can use IMAP to connect to an email inbox. A corresponding trigger is available in the flows, which can receive and process data from the inbox.
In addition to IMAP, you can also set up connections for WDX3 and MQTT.
1️⃣ Each connection can be switched on and off in the overview using the toggle. The current status of the connection is displayed on the right-hand side.
2️⃣ The functions at the bottom of a connection provide you with more in-depth monitoring and editing options for that connection.
LOGshows you the connection log. For example, when a connection was established or terminated.- Clicking
EDITtakes you to the connection’s edit view. This is the same view as when setting up a connection for the first time and allows you, for example, to change the password or replace the certificate. - Using
DELETE, you can completely remove a connection that is no longer required.

Create a connection
1️⃣ You can use the Name and Description fields to name the connection you are setting up and add a description. This will help you identify the connection in the overview later on, should you set up multiple connections.
2️⃣ In the Type drop-down menu, you can specify the type of connection. In the example shown, this is IMAP.
3️⃣ In the server section, enter the server for your IMAP mailbox and the required encryption, along with the corresponding port. You can obtain this information from your mail server provider.
4️⃣ Username and Password are also required and are used for authentication with the server. To view the password, you can click on the eye icon to the right of the password input field. You can also obtain your username and password from your mail server provider.
5️⃣ Additionally, you can configure GroupAlarm to ignore emails that are older than X minutes. This prevents, for example, outdated alerts from being processed unintentionally. You can also specify that emails are automatically deleted from the inbox after processing.

6️⃣ In addition to the data from the email, attachments can also be used later in the flow. To identify the attachment in subsequent elements, you can assign a name here, which then identifies the variable that will be populated with the attachment.
The query input field can be used to specify which attachments are to be used later in the flow.
The Required function can be set to designate the attachment as an essential element. If the attachment in question is not included, the email will not be passed on to the flow. You will then receive a corresponding warning in the log.
7️⃣ You can check the connection to the mail server via TEST CONNECTION. The system will attempt to establish a connection using the stored data.
