Profile - Security

In the Security section of your profile, you can configure all relevant settings relating to the security of your user account.

1️⃣ Under Change password, you can assign a new password for your personal user account by entering your current password. If you no longer know your password, please use the Forgot Password function on the following login page here, using the email address of your user account. You will then receive an email with further instructions on how to reset your password.

2️⃣ Two-factor Authentication allows you to add a second form of identification to better protect your account from unauthorised access. Some organisations require the use of two-factor authentication. You can only join such organisations if you activate this function beforehand.

3️⃣ Under Active sessions, you can view all your connected devices. This includes active sessions in your web browser and apps. You can end any GroupAlarm WebApp sessions that are no longer needed here if necessary. However, old sessions are automatically removed after one year if they are no longer in use. Old connections to the app are only documented in the list for the sake of completeness and cannot be removed manually. You can see which devices are currently being used or connected via the app in your availability settings.

4️⃣ The API Keys are used to authenticate external applications with the GroupAlarm API interface. In addition to the app tokens listed here, you can also create your own keys if required. In your profile, you can only create personal access tokens. Only administrators can create an API token for an organisation. The documentation for the API interface can be found here.
