Units

A unit is a group of participants who have a desired qualification (in the form of a label). So, here you define, for example, that your ambulance will be manned by an emergency paramedic and a paramedic. This allows you to map vehicles, foot units and more.
You can then combine several units in a scenario, e.g. to form an AAO.

In the unit overview, you can see the unique ID, the name incl. description and the necessary labels that make up your units. In addition, you can show the external identifier, the status, and the position.

Create and edit units

To create a new unit, select the "Create unit" button above the list.
To edit an existing unit, click on the pencil icon in the list.

The necessary configuration of a unit consists of a name and at least one label. In addition, you can add a description, protect the unit from deletion and define an extended configuration (see below).

The label assignment is done in the lower area. Select the required label from the drop-down menu and enter how many participants with this label are required in the field "Personnel strength". If you want to alert all participants with this label, simply click on the ∞ sign.
Repeat this process until all necessary labels have been added.

Advanced configuration

Units can accept a number of optional configuration parameters:
An external identifier that can be used for alerting via our API and flows and is set by you, e.g. in coordination with a control centre.
The status, which reflects the current state of your unit and can prevent a unit from being alerted.
The position, which records the current location of your unit.

Alarm triggering with external identifier.

Triggering an alarm is also possible with the external identifiers of your units. To do this, use the array unitExternalIDs in the field alarmResources in our API, which accepts the identifiers and converts them into the stored units.
To documentation

The specification of an external identifier is also possible when an alarm is triggered by the flow.

Status of a unit

We supply a standard set of statuses for your units. If these do not fit your needs, you can delete existing statuses, adjust them or create new ones in the organization settings. Resetting to our standard statuses is also possible there.

If you specify that alerting is not possible in a certain status, a unit that is in this status will not be alerted.

Units with statuses can also be automatically set to a status of your choice as soon as they are alerted or the event in which they are booked is closed.

To keep the status of your units up to date with as little effort as possible, we recommend that you use the interfaces provided for this purpose. These allow you to update the status using the unit's ID or external identifier without affecting the rest of the configuration.

Position of a unit

The position of a unit is determined by its coordinates. You can maintain these either manually in the frontend or via our interface.

To keep the position of your units up to date with as little effort as possible, we recommend that you use the interfaces provided for this purpose. These allow you to update the position using the ID or the external identifier of the unit without influencing the rest of the configuration.

Delete unit

To delete an existing unit, click on the bin icon in the list. Confirm the operation afterwards.
If the deletion is not successful, please check whether the unit is still being used in a scenario or is protected from deletion.
