Labels
A label represents a required qualification within an alarm. Possible targeted labels within a BOS organisation include leader, engineer or SCBA wearer. Within a company, positions such as marketing, IT administration or development can be mapped. The labels are configured under Configuration → Labels.
Labels are given a name, a description and a colour so that they can be easily recognised and distinguished. Labels are assigned in the participant area under Configuration → Participants → Assignment or via the three dots on the respective label.

Create and edit labels
You can create a new label by clicking on the green CREATE LABEL button.
1️⃣ You can specify a name and description to uniquely identify the label. You can also assign a colour to the label. The name and colour of the label affect the badge that you see in the label overview, when an alarm is triggered in the GroupAlarm App, or on the GroupAlarm monitor.
2️⃣ The weight allows you to prioritise a label. A higher weight for the label means that the label is given preference. To prioritise a label, its weight must be higher than that of a label with a lower weighting. This allows you to create as many gradations in the weighting of labels as you wish. If you do not enter a weight, the label automatically has a weight of 0.
3️⃣ Using substitution labels allows you to define a substitute for this label. The positions in an alarm that cannot be filled (e.g. due to a lack of available participants or cancellations that have already been received) are then filled with the substitute.
The specified substitution label is only used during the alert if a specified number of participants are alerted. If the ‘all participants’ function is activated when the alert is triggered or within a unit, no substitution label is used in the alert. This prevents significantly more participants than expected from being alerted unintentionally.
4️⃣ Pausable labels allow participants to manage assigned labels themselves to a limited extent. For example, a participant who has the qualification and label ‘breathing apparatus wearer’ can pause this if they feel that their health prevents them from performing the task accordingly. They will then receive no further alarms for that label. Alarms for other labels that have not been paused remain unaffected and continue as usual. Information on setting up and using pausable labels can be found here.
5️⃣ With the minimum number of participants available, you define the minimum amount you need for a label. This value also serves as the basis for the coverage. The coverage helps you to determine operational readiness and provides an overview of the current availability of your participants. Details on the coverage can be found here.

Smart Labels
While labels can only be assigned and removed manually, smart labels are assigned automatically based on predefined conditions. Smart labels can be assigned to participants based on their affiliation with other labels and/or if the participant is located within a geofence. A simple example of this would be a smart label that you call ‘Ready for action’. This smart label is then automatically assigned to participants if they have, for example, the labels ‘Training received’, ‘Health certificate’ and ‘Proof of vaccination’. Participants to whom you have not yet assigned this label, or from whom one of these labels is withdrawn, will not be added to the ‘Ready for deployment’ label by the system, or it will be removed. You can now use the ‘Ready for deployment’ smart label as a basis for further smart labels or directly in your alerts, alert templates or appointment invitations to select only those participants you actually want to reach.
In conjunction with a geofence, one possible scenario would be to alert an emergency service. Here, you could use a geofence to define a specific radius. Only participants who have the qualification (label) to fulfil the task and are simultaneously located within the geofence, i.e. nearby, will receive the smart label.
In a smart label, you can use any number of other labels – including existing smart labels – and connect them using AND or OR links.
All known label settings (e.g. weight, substitution label) are also available for smart labels.

Creating and editing smart labels
Creating and editing a smart label is essentially no different from creating and editing a normal label. However, there are additional fields that need to be configured.
1️⃣ First, you can also specify the link type. The two possible variants are an AND and an OR link. Specifically, this means that the following two selection fields for label and geofence must either both apply together (AND) in order to receive the label, or only one of the two conditions must be met (OR).
2️⃣ In the selection fields for labels and geofence, you then specify what specifically must be fulfilled in order to receive the label. The selection field for labels allows you to specify the labels and smart labels, while the field for the geofence allows you to integrate a location-dependent component via a geofence.

CSV
Import
Using the CSV import, you can create multiple labels in a single step.
CSV stands for "Comma-Separated Values" and is a file format for simple structuring. You can create such files, for example, by exporting an Excel file.
To do so, click on the three dots in the right margin and select "CSV Import".

In the following window, click on the 'SELECT FILE' button to upload a CSV file.
The content of the file is displayed in the text field and can also be edited here. Alternatively, you can write directly in the text field without uploading a file. Keep to the format described (one label per line, values separated by commas: "name, description, HEX colour code") and note that the first line is ignored during the import process.

Click on 'NEXT' to get a preview of the labels. Click on the red bin to remove a label.

To start the import process, click on the 'DONE' button.
In the following window, you will see the result of the import.

If a label already exists, it will be skipped during the import process, and you will receive a notification in the event window.

Export
With the help of the CSV export, you can export your labels as a CSV file and, for example, forward them or import them into a sub-organisation.
To do this, click on the three dots in the right margin and select "CSV Export".
