Incident Log / Guard Book

Although the Incident Log and the Guard Book are two different functions, they share the categories in which entries can be created. Therefore, this article will discuss both functions.

The Guard Book is primarily used to document general processes, while the Incident Log is intended to document duty-related processes. Entries in the Incident Log can therefore only be made in open events, while entries in the Guard Book can be made at any time.

Categories can be created under ConfigurationIncident Log or ConfigurationGuard Book.

Incident Log

The Incident Log can only be maintained in an open event under AlarmsEvents. Once the event has been closed, further editing is no longer possible. To make entries, you must first obtain write access. If write access is currently available, it can also be released again using the corresponding button. However, write access also expires automatically when another user obtains write access. This ensures that only one person can make entries at a time.

1️⃣ Once you have obtained write access, you can create entries. To do this, you must first select one of the categories you created earlier. You must also select the date on which the event to be documented took place. This date can be in the future or in the past. Then formulate the actual entry in the text input field. Optionally, you can then add the location and a reference.

2️⃣ The individual entries themselves are listed below. The entries are sorted in the order in which they were created. You can use the information icon to see who made the entry and when. You can delete an entry using the recycle bin. However, the entry is not completely deleted, but is crossed out after deletion. This means that all processes can always be traced.

💡 The Incident Log is also part of the GroupAlarm Cockpit. Details can be found here.

Guard Book

The Guard Book can be maintained under AlarmGuard Book. Entries in the Guard Book can be made at any time and are not tied to events.

The process itself, i.e. how an entry is created in the Guard Book, is no different from the process for the mission log. For the sake of completeness, however, here it is again in detail.
