# Organisation settings - Enable devices

Under `Enable devices`, you can activate and deactivate the devices available for alerting participants globally for your organisation. Deactivating can be useful, for example, if you want to ensure that no additional costs are incurred for sending SMS or calls in the event of alerts. All devices are activated by default.

|| ⚠️ The settings you make only affect the devices of participants for your organisation. In other organisations, participants can continue to use the full range of their devices.

| 💡 If you still would like to alert individual participants with a globally deactivated device, you can activate the device in the participant list using the three dots next to the respective participant.
